Moisture Scans
Infrared Thermography
This is a non-destructive testing method used to locate areas of wet insulation within your roof assembly. The Infrared scan of your roof can also pinpoint and identify small problems before they become large and more costly. We have an on staff certified Thermographer to ensure all Infrared scans performed are of the highest level of quality.
Electrical Capacitance
Also a non destructive testing method; an electric capacitance meter is used to detect areas of wet insulation. This device transmits an electrical field into the roof system; if moisture is present the dielectric properties change which cause a higher reading on the meter.
Delmhorst Probe
This is a destructive testing method, meaning that the membranes of the roofing system have to be breached in order for the probes to be able to detect the moisture. The moisture content of the roof material is read through these two electrical probes. This test is usually only performed to verify the non destructive testing methods (listed above) as each test location requires patching.
